Crochet Slipper Questions & Answers
Crochet slipper questions, answered.
What is Hooksole?
Hooksole is a small-batch crochet slipper brand operated by HOOKSOLE TRADING LIMITED. It sells finished knit-look slippers and DIY crochet slipper kits in Hooksole sizes 36–43. Kits are available at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Do I need crochet experience?
Not for a Beginner kit. Beginner kits are designed for a first crochet project with simple stitchwork and video support. Intermediate kits assume you know basic stitches and are ready for colour changes or decoration. Advanced kits include more detailed colourwork and mushroom details, so they are better suited to people with existing crochet experience.
What is included in a DIY slipper kit?
The core kit includes one pair of cloud-shaped soles in your selected Hooksole size, matched yarn, a double-ended crochet hook, six stitch markers, a plastic yarn needle, a glue stick, a printed pattern and access to a video tutorial. Two-tone and pearl kits include additional yarn colours and decoration materials; mushroom kits include mushroom buttons. Product-specific extras are listed on each kit page.
How long does it take to make a pair?
Allow an estimated 6–10 hours for a first pair, spread across a few evenings. If you already crochet, most people finish in about 3–4 hours. Making time varies with experience and kit level.
How do I choose my Hooksole size?
Measure your foot while standing and match it to the “Fits foot” column in the size guide. Hooksole labels run about two EU sizes larger than the usual size they fit: someone who normally wears EU 38 will generally choose Hooksole size 36. For a looser fit, choose one Hooksole size above that recommendation.
Is every order gift-ready?
Yes. Every order arrives in a gift box with a premium carrier bag and a handwritten thank-you card. The packing slip does not show prices.
How long do shipping and delivery take?
Orders usually dispatch within 3–4 business days after payment. Estimated delivery to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore and New Zealand is 8–14 business days after dispatch, with tracking included. These are estimates, not guarantees. Orders of US$70 or more receive free standard shipping; orders below US$70 are charged US$8.
How should I care for the slippers?
Follow the care instruction for the exact product, because crocheted uppers and knit-look plush finishes may need different care. For a hand-washable crochet slipper, use cool water and mild soap, reshape while damp, and dry flat away from direct heat. Current plush product pages specify spot cleaning with a soft, damp cloth and air drying. Do not tumble dry either type.
Can I return an order if it does not fit?
Unworn finished slippers may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Unopened DIY kits may also be returned within 30 days. Opened, used, cut or modified kits cannot be returned for change of mind, except where the item is faulty, damaged or not as described. Email support@hooksole.com before sending anything back.
